I am a solicitor working at CMS Cameron McKenna where I have been since 1996. I specialise in corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance (particularly IPOs on AIM and the Official List) and outsourcing.

I have recently completed a transaction for the Department of Trade and Industry to re-tender the £500 million contract to manage and operate the National Physical Laboratory for the next 10 or 15 years. Amongst other transactions, I have acted for the purchaser in relation to the £1.8 billion acquisition of the Le Meridien chain of interational luxury hotels; the management in the £250 million public-to-private offer for Perkins Foods PLC; Hg Capital Trust plc on the formation of a £70 million limited partnership structure for its investments. I have also acted on a number of mining transactions including the flotation and subsequent fund-raisings for Cluff Mining PLC and a placing for Oxus Mining PLC.

Some years ago, I wrote a slightly off-topic article on Copyright Protection through Digital Watermarking. It was published in the Computer and Security Review. Technology has moved on a long way since the article was written, but it is still surprisingly relevant for a technology article written six years ago. Full text of the article.
